Students can now apply with their games – we have opened a brand new category!

For the first time this year, Anifilm will feature a competition of student games. Although computer games have always been an important part of Anifilm’ programme, they haven’t had their own competition category. The first or actually the zero edition of the student games competition is not open internationally, though. Only students from the Czech Republic, Germany and Poland (i.e. the so-called Trojzemí, a border region between three countries) and Slovakia can apply with their creations. If you have a game that has been created this year as a school project in one of the above countries, you can apply here. This new category has an extended deadline until 31 January 2025.

Game Pitch Arena Supported by the PPF Foundation: Applications are now open

Cyber Sail together with Anifilm will be holding the second edition of a computer game pitching session called Game Pitch Arena. It offers a unique opportunity to game developers from the Czech Republic, Slovakia and other countries. Studios will have a chance to get financial support that will help with the smooth development of projects by independent studios. The PPF Foundation, the main partner of Anifilm, will provide financial support of EUR 10,000.

The deadline to submit your gaming projects is 31 January 2025. The pitching will be in English. You can find more information and submit your project here.

We are looking forward to indie games from around the world

Same as every year, also professional games will compete in the international competition at Anifilm. Become part of the selection of the most interesting video gaming projects celebrating experimental creators and artistic creations. The jury at Anifilm 2025 will present an Award for the Best Game for Children and an Award for the Best Visual Art. The applications to the international competition of computer games are open until the end of the year. You can apply here.
