Game Pitch Arena 2025 & Student Computer Games Competition winners selected

This year, the International Festival of Animated Films Anifilm has provided space not just for experienced indie developers, but also for the new generation of creators of games. Two different formats – Game Pitch Arena and the newly added Student Games Competition – served as a platform for the presentation, support and further development of original gaming projects from Central Europe.

Game Pitch Arena: Second edition of the successful pitching session

Liberec hosted the second edition of Game Pitch Arena organised in collaboration with Cyber Sail. The event is intended for independent developer studios that can present their projects before a jury of experts – publishers, investors and gaming industry professionals. The aim is to present a gaming concept and business plan and establish contacts that will help projects secure support for realisation and release in the market.

The winning projects received substantial support – the PPF Foundation, Anifilm’s main partner, will provide a grant of EUR 10,000. Law firm Mavericks will offer legal services worth EUR 1,000 and BEEP STUDIO will do sound postproduction and trailer mixing for selected titles.

Student Computer Games: New competition section at Anifilm

Alongside Game Pitch Arena, Anifilm premiered its new competition section of student digital games, where projects by students of games study programmes from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland and Germany were presented.

Anifilm created space for the presentation of unique and innovative gaming projects created at universities and promoted dialogue between aspiring creators, professional public and gaming professionals.
