Workshop

Teams of experienced animators, limited only by time and their own fantasy, will stage eight original street fights
of their pumped up puppets in an attempt at winning over the spectators, who will vote for the best fight of the tournament. Two fights a day straight onto the canvas.

A festival of “wu-puppet do” and “wood fu” fighting styles, often including diverse fatalities and other deceitful actions.

Improvisation and high-frequency animation to the last drop of blood, produced by the creative group KREUS.

Renata Fučíková studied illustration and graphic design at the Academy of Art, Architecture, and Design in Prague. She illustrates children’s books, adapts classical stories into comic books, and designs postage stamps. In recent years, she has been writing her own illustrated books about history and important historical figures. Her work has been honoured with many national and foreign awards, she is on the IBBY honour list, and she was nominated for the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award. Fučíková has illustrated popular fairy-tales (Brothers Grimm, Hans Christian Andersen, Chinese, Celtic and Arabian fairy-tales), the Chronicles of Narnia, Old Bohemian and Moravian Tales, Roses and Chevrons, Christmas and many other publications. She has also illustrated her own books: Tales of the Old Testament, Tales of the New Testament, T. G. Masaryk, J. A. Komenský, Antonín Dvořák, and others. 

A workshop for anyone who loves comic strips, would like to see how they are made, to learn how to create humour and punch lines in just three frames (or on one page), and would like to try to draw their own.
