Czech Competition on the Horizon

The selection committee of the Czech Horizon Competition has also been busy. This year, the category for the best animated series returns and will form the national competition along with categories for short + feature films, student films, commissioned works, music videos. The best animation across all categories will recieve the Czech Television Award. Among the competitors are doyens of Czech animation such as Pavel Koutský and Michaela Pavlátová but also students from Sutnar Faculty, FAMU, UMPRUM, UTB and the Václav Hollar School of Fine Art. The competition includes many interesting and inventive spots, jingles and commercials. Which ones? You can find out here. The winners of all categories will be traditionally picked by the members of the Council of Animated film. The award for the Best Student Film now comes with a prize in the form a voucher for sound post-production in the BEEP studios.
