Welcome to the World of Animated Curiosities

The history of animated film is full of artists who haven’t always followed the beaten path. They came up with new approaches and used animation to bring virtually anything to life. The accompanying programme of this year’s Anifilm is dominated by a theme focusing on unique animation techniques and atypical materials. Come to Třeboň and explore the world of extraordinary animation curiosities - a screen with several thousand pins in it, glass and food animation and ancient animation techniques brought back to life in the new millennium. Apart from six short film blocks, Anifilm will screen the Czech premiere of the feature film And We Were Young made with silhouette animation and a unique retrospective of the “hidden Czech experimenter” Petr Skala and introduce a curious animation-screening project by Jan Kulka called Pramítačka and František Týmal’s films made without a camera.
